This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Rocket Dog (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected about you (your "personal information") when you visit the www.rocketdog.com website, and all related pages and subdomains (collectively, the "Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Rocket Dog.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

When you visit or interact with our Site, we  may collect, process, and store various kinds of data, including your personal information. We may collect, process, or store personal information when you: 

  • fill out forms (e.g. the “Contact Us” form);
  • place orders, return an item, or make an exchange;
  • register an account on the Site;
  • contact us with inquiries, including via email or through our customer service channels;
  • sign up to receive communications from us;
  • respond to a survey or enter a contest; or
  • voluntarily provide information.  

We may also collect information automatically through the use of cookies and similar technologies, and from third parties. We also collect information in a form that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.  

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; we do not share this information with any unaffiliated or non-agent third parties.   

Information You Provide Us

We may ask for certain information such:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, company email address, company name, job title, and messages you send us (which are associated with your contact information).

  • If you email us through at one of the email addresses posted on our Website, we may collect and retain personal information contained within your email communications.

  • Personal information associated with your interactions with us or our partners Rocket Dog products or services.

  • If you make a purchase, we collect credit card numbers and other payment, billing and shipping information.

  • When you create an account, we collect passwords and contact information.

  • Your contact and marketing preferences.

Information We Collect Automatically

Unless you have opted out or have otherwise refused to provide consent, the following is data that we collect from automatically:

  • Browser Data: This is technical information about the browser you are using that is captured in order to properly format our Site for your browser.

  • Device Data: This is technical information about the device you use to access our Site such as your device's IP address and operating system. If you are using a mobile device, your device type, and mobile device's unique advertising identifier (such as the Apple IDFA or Android Advertising ID) and any other unique identifier that may be assigned to the mobile device.

  • Website Activity Data: This is data about your browsing activity on our Site. For example, which pages you visited and when, how much time was spent on a page, what items were clicked on a page, whether you downloaded a document.

We may use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags or other technologies to automatically collect certain information when you use our Site or interact with our emails on or from our Site or other websites. This information may include your IP address, browser type, geolocation data, unique user ID, cell phone model, operating system and carrier, and Internet Service Provider. We also may collect information about your use of our services, such as the number of times you return or visit the Site whether you click-through, open, or forward links, emails, and ads, the URLs and webpages you've visited, sections of or content on pages of the Site on which you click or in which you are interested, the number of times you visit each webpage, what downloads and/or search queries you have made, how long you spent on particular sections of the Site and on the Site generally, and other Site usage data. 

Information We Share with Others

We do not sell, trade, or rent Site users’ or visitors’ personal information to others for marketing purposes. However, personal information may be disclosed to third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  • Aggregated Demographic Information: We may share certain limited demographic information with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

  • Third Party Service Providers: We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties as needed for them to perform their functions. We will use contractual or other means to protect personal information disclosed to such third parties.

  • In the Event of a Business Change: If we become involved in a merger, consolidation, acquisition, sale of assets, joint venture, securities offering, bankruptcy, reorganization, liquidation, dissolution, or other transaction, we may share or transfer your information to a third party or parties in connection therewith.

How Do We Use the Personal Information We Collect?

Rocket Dog may collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide you with information, products, or services, including customer service, that you request from us;

  • To personalize your experience;

  • To improve our Site;

  • To process payments or refunds;

Information We Collect from Others

We may collect information about you from other sources, such as advertising platforms.  

Protecting Your Information

 We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.  However, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or guarantee that information on the Site may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. You should use caution whenever submitting information online.

Data Aggregation and De-Identification

We or third parties we permit may aggregate and de-identify data we collect so that it can either no longer be directly associated with a natural person or cannot be associated with a natural person at all. We may then use such data for our business purposes including the provision of interest-based advertising and reporting. We may share aggregated and de-identified data with our affiliates and third parties, including with our advertising partners.

Your Choices and Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising and Analytics.

  • Review, Correction, and Deletion of Your Information. You may review, edit, and/or request to delete the information we collected about you at any time by contacting us at the addresses listed at the end of this Privacy Policy.  If your information has been shared with a third party, as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, then that third party has received its own copy of your data.  If you have been contacted by one of these third parties and wish to correct or delete your information, please contact them directly.

  • Targeted or Interest-Based Advertising.  We may work with third-party advertising companies that collect and use information about your online activities across sites over time in order to deliver more relevant advertising when you are visiting the Site and elsewhere across the Internet.  This practice is known as interest-based advertising.  If you want to limit the data that we or others collect about you through this Site and want us to not target ads that are based on your interests to your browsers or devices, you may opt-out from tracking and tailored advertising at any time through one of the ways described below. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but those ads are less likely to have anything to do with products or services you care about. With tailored advertising, you receive ads and offers that are more likely to be useful to you. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this Site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.  However, you can still place orders over the telephone or by contacting customer service.  Please note that cookie-based opt outs must be performed on each device and browser that you wish to have opted out.

  • Google Analytics.  We may use Google Analytics to improve our Site’s functions.  You can choose not to be included in Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.  If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the Site or through any of the features on this Site.  If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information.  If you believe we might have information from or about a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, please contact us at rdcs@rocketdog.com

SMS and Email Marketing

We value your privacy and the information you consent to share in relation to our SMS and email marketing services. We use this information to send you text notifications (for your order, including abandoned checkout reminders), text marketing offers, and transactional texts, including requests for reviews from us. 

Our Site uses cookies to keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, including when you have abandoned your checkout. This information is used to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS.

You can opt out of receiving communications from us at any time by following the unsubscribe or opt out instructions in the email or texting “STOP” in response to any SMS message from us. 

Third-Party Websites and Social Media

Our Site may contain links to other sites, including those of third parties or partners.  While we seek to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices other websites use.  By accessing other third-party websites or applications through our Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those websites.  It is possible that other parties may collect personal  information about your online activities over time and across different web sites when you use our Site.

Our Site may include social media features, such as Facebook “Likes” or “Recommend” buttons, X, and YouTube.  These social media features may require cookies to be set to function properly.  These features may also collect personal information such as your IP address.  These features are governed by the Privacy Policy of the social media platform.  Please review the Privacy Policy of the social media platforms to learn how they protect your information.

Changes to our Privacy Notice 

We reserve the right to amend this privacy notice at our discretion and at any time. This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained in Rocket Dog’s Privacy Policy and applies solely to external contacts who reside in the State of California (“you” or “Consumer”).  We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA) and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Notice.

Rocket Dog does not monetize your personal information; however, to the extent that a disclosure of your personal information may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA, you have the right to opt out.  we share certain information about your device and interaction with our Site to enhance your experience with us and to engage in the legitimate business purpose of advertising and marketing. The Your Choices and Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising and Analytics section of our Policy describes how you can opt-out of sharing of your data for advertising and analytics purposes. You may also click the link “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” found on our homepage. 

Rocket Dog does not have actual knowledge that we sell personal information of minors under the age of 16.

The Right to Access/Know

You have the right to request any or all of the following information relating to your personal information we have collected and disclosed in the last 12 months, upon verification of your identity:

Right to Correct/Right to Rectification

In certain circumstances, you have the right to request correction of any inaccurate personal information.  Upon verifying the validity of your request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct your personal information as directed, taking into account the nature of your personal information and the purposes of maintaining your personal information.

The Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.  However, please note that if the exercise of these rights limits our ability to process personal information, we may no longer be able to provide you our products and services or engage with you in the same manner. 

“Shine the Light”

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Site that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 


Exercising Your California Privacy Rights

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. Agents must submit proof that they have been authorized by the consumer to act on their behalf. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

We verify requests by sending a confirmation email to the requestor and by matching the identifying information provided by the consumer to the personal information already maintained by us. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot: (i) verify your identity or authority to make the request; and (ii) confirm the personal information relates to you. If we are unable to verify the identity of a consumer to enough degree of certainty, we will deny the request and explain the reason for the denial.
